$20 a monthThat is the whole difference between 2Gbps and 4Gbps on our plans. Most providers charge $40 to $50 to make the same jump, so if you are going to the trouble of a HyperFibre install, the bigger plan is usually the one worth taking.

What you need to run it

HyperFibre is not just a plan change. The connection itself is different, so two things usually need sorting before it will run at full speed.

A HyperFibre-capable ONT

The box on your wall may need replacing, which means a technician visit. We arrange it and tell you the timeframe for your address before you commit.

A router that can keep up

A standard fibre router will bottleneck a multi-gigabit connection. You need multi-gig ethernet ports to see the speeds you are paying for. We supply a suitable router for $289 if yours will not manage it.

Who actually needs it

HyperFibre is worth paying for when your work moves large files or many people move them at once. If your team mostly does email, video calls and cloud apps, standard business fibre will serve you just as well for less.

Uploads, not just downloads

Speeds are symmetrical, so 4Gbps up as well as down. That is the part standard fibre cannot match and the reason most HyperFibre customers switch.

Video, design and media

Moving raw footage, large design files or backups offsite without the working day being built around a progress bar.

Sites with a lot of people on it

Offices, studios and packhouses where thirty people are all pulling from the cloud at the same time.

Common questions about HyperFibre

Do you offer the 8Gbps HyperFibre plan?

Not yet. We offer 2Gbps and 4Gbps today. If your site genuinely needs 8Gbps, talk to us and we will tell you honestly whether it is available at your address and what the alternatives are.

Is HyperFibre available at my address?

Not everywhere. HyperFibre is only in areas where the network supports it. Send us your address and we will check before you commit to anything.

Will my current router handle it?

Probably not, if it is a standard fibre router. Multi-gigabit speeds need multi-gig ethernet ports. Send us the make and model and we will tell you, or take one of ours for $289.

Are the speeds really symmetrical?

Yes. Up to 2000 Mbps or 4000 Mbps in both directions, which is what separates HyperFibre from standard fibre where upload is usually a fraction of download.

Is there a data cap?

No, and no throttling on these plans.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. HyperFibre is month to month like everything else we sell.

Can I put my phone lines on the same account?

Yes, and most customers do. One provider, one invoice, and the phone service is covered on our business voice page.

Do these prices include GST?

No. Every price on this page excludes GST.

Check your address first

HyperFibre is not available everywhere, so the first step is finding out what your building can actually get. Send us the address and we will come back with what is available and what it costs. We answer the phone in about 13 seconds on average.

Broadband terms and conditions

All prices above are ex GST
  1. The speeds shown for each plan are the maximum the plan can deliver. What you actually get depends on things like your equipment, your internal wiring and how many people are using the connection at once, as well as how other networks deliver data to and from ours. We cannot guarantee the service will always be available or that it will suit any particular purpose.
  2. On an uncapped or unlimited plan there is no limit on how much you upload or download. We may use traffic prioritisation to protect the network and keep performance fair for everyone. Speeds and latency to servers in New Zealand and overseas are affected by factors outside our network, and connections beyond our network are on a best effort basis.
  3. To keep voice and video calls clear, we manage other internet traffic on our network to avoid packet loss, latency and jitter. Kiwi VoIP voice traffic is prioritised and is never throttled.
  4. Unlimited plans are intended for a single end customer. Running server farms, or sharing one connection across multiple customers, is not permitted.
  5. If you are on a capped plan, extra data can be added in 20GB blocks at $15.00 per block, and unused blocks expire at the end of the month. Once you reach your data limit your internet traffic is slowed to 256k until the next billing month. Your Kiwi VoIP voice traffic keeps running at full speed.
  6. HyperFibre is not available at every address and may require an ONT upgrade and a technician visit. A router with multi-gigabit ports is needed to reach the speeds quoted. We confirm availability and any lead time for your address before you order.
  7. All circuits include a static IP. Choose a Kiwi VoIP private IP, or a public IP for an additional fee. One public IP per connection.
  8. Listed prices cover standard installations. Complex installations are quoted separately, and we will tell you the cost before any work is done.
  9. Additional charges, such as a no fault found fee, will be on charged where they apply.
  10. Services are sold on a prepay basis and billed in advance, for the part month on install and monthly after that.
  11. You can cancel at any time with 30 days notice. The notice period is billed in advance and there are no part month refunds.
  12. Order your connection by logging into the Kiwi VoIP portal and going to the Broadband page.
  13. All prices exclude GST and are in New Zealand dollars.
