 What is a Hunt Group?

Hunt groups, or line hunting, is a call forwarding feature that redirects incoming calls to a group of users of your choosing. Using a line hunting ring strategy will simultaneously ring all numbers in the hunt group, one single incoming call can loop through the hunt party. If the call remains unanswered, a message may be taken by a voicemail and forwarded to the group or person.

  1. Login to your portal on https://portal.kiwivoip.co.nz
  2. Click on Cloud PBX in the top menu
  3. From the numbers listed on the web page click the number you want to work on
  4. You will get a menu like this
  5. Click on Inbound Calls, the menu will expand to look like this
  6. Click on Hunt Group
  7. You will get a menu like this
  8. Tick the “Enable a hunt group for this number” box
  9. In the “Ring this hunt group” field select the time schedule that you want ( if you would like to read more on how to setup your time schedules click here)
  10. The seconds timeout before trying the hunt group enables you to delay the time before this hunt group kicks in.  If you set this a 0 it will work straight away.  A example of this is if you wanted the number to ring on the main phone first and then if no one is available it will ring the hunt group.
  11. Next in the hunt group number enter the numbers you want and the Seconds timeout.
  12. Goto the bottom and click Save
